You can get the default settings by deleting both files oeminfo.ini and oemlogo.bmp in the system32 folder

I followed your instructions to the letter but there was no change at all in the appearance of "My Computer" properties. I rebooted thinking that this will cause the changes to take effect but still there was no difference. The information and picture do not show on "My Computer" properties. So I must be doing something wrong.

make sure that you have given correct names to the files and copied them in correct location - windows -> system32 folder ..

don't leave the manufacturer blank and it'll show. also, the height of the bitmap seems to be around 120 - 130 somewhere. so something like Manufacturer=" " if you don't want a name. Model and support information aren't required just to show the picture. no reboot necessary either.
